VirtualBox:

mount.vboxsf {remote-share} {local-dir}
Iceweasel as the vanilla Firefox: in about:config
set general.useragent.override
to modified user-agent identification string, e.g. “Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20110412 Firefox/4.0” and check about:support

Usplash
install the package: apt-get install usplash usplash-theme-debian
if you already have an initrd.img then update-initramfs will automatically generate a /boot/initrd.img for you, otherwise:
reconfigure: dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-$(uname -r)
or init new: mkinitramfs -k -o /boot/initrd.img-$(uname -r)
add “vga=794 quiet splash” to your /boot/grub/menu.lst
Java Plugin, TrueType Fonts, IMs, Firefox Plugins, etc.
install the packages: apt-get install icedtea-gcjwebplugin msttcorefonts psi
install the packages: apt-get install adblock-plus mozilla-imagezoom mozilla-livehttpheaders iceweasel-webdeveloper
